Three months ago, I wrote a post about how I become a birding newbie. It’s fun. And we bought some other tools and stuff to try it out. Here is what works and whatnot.

This one we bought doesn’t work very well. There are small suckers which are supposed to hold the pump to the bottom. But the suckers are too weak, so it just floats on top of the water. After a few days, it stopped working, and the pump got blocked with bird poo and feathers. You have to clean it regularly to avoid the problem. Since it’s floating around on the water surface, it sprays water everywhere. After a few hours, the birdbath would become empty.
Woodstream Hummingbird W Dew Drop Hummingbird Feeder – We wonder if we have hummingbirds in the neighbourhood. So we bought a hummingbird feeder with some Ready-To-Use Hummingbird Nectar from Perky-Pet. So far, we haven’t seen any, but ants seem to know a way to find the sucrose water.
Great Value Black Oil Sunflower Seed Wild Bird Food – Birds love black oil sunflower seed. We used to subscribe it from Amazon, but it’s no longer available. We bought some from Walmart. At first, birds seem to hesitate a bit, but now they got used to it.
